The SX Series of Canon Powershot cameras as well as the S-Series, S90, are Canon’s high end digital cameras, ideal for serious amateurs and professionals. It gives the seasoned photographer a lot of capability and flexibility similar to an SLR, but in a much more compact design.

Powershot SX200IS – The Canon Powershot SX200IS has even better resolution and zoom capability than the SX120IS. The SX200 IS comes with a 12.1 megapixel lens, with 12x optical zoom and image stabilization. The large 3 inch LCD makes framing a picture a snap. The SX200IS also has face detection and blink detection, so along with the outstanding zoom and resolution, these features will have you taking great pictures all of the time. Priced at around $299, this is another great powershot camera at a great price.
Powershot SX210IS – The Canon Powershot SX210IS is the newest SX model camera. The SX210 IS comes with 14x optical zoom and 14.1 megapixel resolution, allowing you to create high resolution pictures that you can print in sizes up to 16″ x 23″ and have them still look great. The SX210 IS has new scene modes providing you with even more auto shooting capability. Priced at around $349, the new Powershot SX210IS also has a wide angle 28mm lens, letting you add more depth to your photos, as well as ensuring everything is captured in your picture.
Powershot SX20IS – The Canon Powershot SX20IS comes with a very high powered 20x wide angle optical zoom lens with image stabilizer. With both a wide angle lens and a strong zoom capability, you can use the SX20 IS to shoot anything from a wide angle shot to a detailed telephoto picture. The camera’s resolution is 12.1 MP, coupled with the great zoom and wide angle capabilities, make the photos from this camera outstanding. The SX20 IS comes with a 2.5″LCD that can vary it’s angle, allowing you to take pictures at a variety of angles. The SX20IS is priced around $359.
Powershot SX1IS – The Canon Powershot SX1 IS is designed with an ergonomic grip, making picture taking easy. Along with the other cameras in the high zoom SX line, the SX1 IS has a high powered, 20x zoom, with a wide angle lens at 10 megapixel resolution. The SX1 was the first powershot camera to come with the CMOS sensor, which is one of the premiere features of the Canon EOS cameras. The CMOS sensor makes for an extra clean image, hence clear image. The SX1 IS has a 2.8″ variable angle LCD viewer as well as a full range of shooting modes including the RAW + JPEG mode, giving the photographer a lot of flexibility. The SX1 IS is priced at around $520.
Powershot S90 – The Canon Powershot S90 camera is a more compact design of the S series cameras. The camera is loaded with features and designed for the pro with a control ring that allows for manual control. The S90 is great for portraits, with a 10 megapixel high sensitivity system, and a bright f/2.0 lens that allows you to create a shallow depth of field. It is a compact camera with a lot of capability, ideal for a serious amateur or professional. The S90 is priced at around $399.
